This is a comment I received yesterday, and I am so thankful for it:

I think that it is a little out of place to accuse people of being jealous. Who are we to judge their hearts? It also seems a little prideful to talk about the wealth of the church in such a way. It is true we have been blessed through our obedience to gods commandments. Please be careful in the way you present the church to others. Please don’t do it in a boastful way. For we should not be a prideful people. I can see you are excited to share the good news with others, don’t stop doing it. Please do be careful how you do it. When we start to point fingers, it will only harden hearts, and cause people to shut out the glorious news we can share.
My lovely wife always tells me that I am to competitive, and after 22 years, I am just now beginning to believe her. ;-) Yes, I have always been competitive and have always been more vocal than needful. And of course, being an avid Ohio State football fan doesn’t help my competitiveness. ;-)
But anonymous was correct in chastising me, for I see now that I am no better than the critics who bash Mormonism if I stoop to their level. I cannot find the fault in others when I still have so many faults of my own. I can not and should not judge their hearts. I cannot and should not be prideful. I cannot and will not stoop to the critics level of fault-finding and back biting.
Anonymous was right, and I needed the lesson. I am very excited to share the wonderful news that the Church that Christ originally founded is back on earth once again. Restored in all its glory with Prophets to guide us as in days of old. With the Holy Priesthood restored once again. Excited to share the news of a Temple-building people once again back on the earth. Excited enough to want everyone to know these things. But I have to be realistic and know that not everyone will except the true gospel of Jesus Christ…….the critics didn’t believe Jesus Christ in His day, so why am I surprised that the LDS Church is persecuted by critics today? As long as Satan is loose upon this earth, there will be opposition.
So when I get out of control with my competitiveness, please remind me of the two great commandments of our Heavenly Father: “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” Matthew 22:37-40
29. For verily, verily I say unto you, he that hath the spirit of contention is not of me, but is of the devil, who is the father of contention, and he stirreth up the hearts of men to contend with anger, one with another.
I will try to be more like my Master and Savior in all that I do, say, and think in the future. IMHO
